Soil remediation Conference on the 20th March 2008 in Dombasle (F)
A conference, "Focused remedies for a well managed remediation" was held in the Soda Ash plant at Dombasle, in which the Solution Unit Soil Remediation played an important role. It was organised by SFGP: The French Society of Process Engineering, GISFI - The French Scientific Interest Group - Industrial Brownfields, CAPEMM: The Meurthe and Mosel Development Agency. Its objectives were to promote the safe and efficient usage of chemicals to clean polluted soils.
A hundred and thirty specialists with various backgrounds, from several countries (France, Belgium and Germany) and different fields (Industrial, Consultants, Operators, Regulators and Academics) attended the meeting, with many interesting lectures. This was an opportunity to promote the Solution Unit Soil Remediation, and its range of chemicals, using case studies. More specifically, the inorganic peroxides Ixper generated a great deal of interest, as several lectures demonstrated its efficiency in bioremediation (a process consisting of supplying a slow release of oxygen to Micro-organisms present into the soil in order to enhance their growth and so natural decontamination).
This event has helped to promote Solvay's image and also demonstrated the Dombasle Site's integration in the local academic network. An experience to duplicate in other countries...
