  IXPER® Calcium peroxide

Introduction

IXPER® 75C Calcium Peroxide is a fine, very pale yellow, odourless powder that contains primarily calcium peroxide.

IXPER® 75C Calcium Peroxide is mainly used for the enhanced natural attenuation of pollutants in soil and groundwater such as petrochemical spills and other aerobic biodegradable compounds.

IXPER® 70C Calcium Peroxide Granules is a unique material specifically designed to avoid the dust generated from handling other calcium peroxide products and further extend release of oxygen

Chemical Properties

Both IXPER® Calcium Peroxide decompose slowly in contact with water with the generation of oxygen. Typically H2O2 is not generated under these conditions due to the high pH.

2CaO2 + 2H2O => 2 Ca (OH)2 + O 2

The rate of gaseous oxygen generation is influenced by the physical and chemical properties of the surrounding medium such as pH, and temperature.

Applications

With a proven extended oxygen release profile, IXPER® Calcium Peroxide are used for  enhanced aerobic bioremediation.

Due to its lower specific surface, IXPER® 70C Calcium Peroxide Granules has even a quite longer possible release of oxygen, facilitating further contaminants degradation.

The most common pollutants that can be treated include: BTEX, MTBE, TPH, Non-halogenated volatile solvents, Phenols, cresols, PAH’s, some halogenated compounds, etc.
